Paint protection film (PPF) vs nano ceramic: which suits your car?
Paint protection film stops stone chips and scratches, and nano ceramic adds gloss and makes washing easier. The difference between them by warranty and price, and when to choose one of them and when to have both together.

The question we hear every day at the branch: "should I get a nano coating or fit paint protection film (PPF)?". Both protect the car, but each has a different job. Once you know the difference between PPF and nano ceramic, the choice becomes easy.
PPF vs nano ceramic coating: what is the difference?
PPF is a film, and nano ceramic is a coating. The film has thickness, so it absorbs the impact. The coating is very thin, so it only adds gloss and makes washing easier.
- Protection from stone chips and scratches: the film stops them, and nano ceramic does not.
- Gloss and easy washing: both, and this is nano ceramic's main job.
- Warranty: nano ceramic 3 years, and paint protection film 10 to 12 years depending on the type of film.
- Price: nano ceramic EGP 6,000, and paint protection film from EGP 25,000 for the whole car.
- Job time: film installation takes one to two days depending on the package.
What exactly does nano ceramic do?
It is a thin, clear coating applied to the paint after it has been cleaned and polished. The nano ceramic we use is German, and it carries a 3-year warranty with us.
- A deeper gloss, and water and dust don't cling to the paint.
- Washing becomes easier and quicker.
- It doesn't protect against stone chips and deep scratches. That is the film's job.
Its pros and cons in detail are in nano ceramic, honestly.
What exactly does paint protection film (PPF) do?
It is a clear or matte film, 190 to 230 microns thick, fitted to the whole car or to the parts that take the most hits, such as the front end.
- It absorbs stone chips, sand and everyday scratches.
- On most modern TPU films the surface heals light scratches with heat.
- It is removed by a technician, and the factory paint stays underneath.
- Its warranty is 10 years on 3M, XPEL and HEXIS, and 12 years on STEK Dyno and Covestro.
The difference between the five brands is in types of paint protection film in Egypt.
Which should I choose?
- Your car stays in the city and you want gloss and easy washing at a lower cost: nano ceramic is enough.
- You travel a lot or want to keep the original paint safe from stone chips: paint protection film.
- Your budget is in between: film on the front end only, which is a third of the whole-car price, so from EGP 8,500.
- You want both: the X Max package and above.
Can I combine the two?
Yes, and that is what the X Max packages and above do. In them, graphene is applied to the paint first and the film is fitted over it. The film faces the road, and the graphene is hidden beneath it: if the film is ever removed, the graphene is intact, as if its life had only just begun.
The package price is not published on the site. Send us your car's make and model on WhatsApp and we'll tell you.
And the warranty?
The digital warranty is for paint protection film: the film box carries a serial and a secret code, you activate it yourself, and the certificate is saved in your account. The details are on the digital warranty page.
Nano ceramic carries a 3-year warranty, but without a digital warranty code. The check-up every 6 months is free in both cases.
If you're still unsure, send us your car's make and how you use it on WhatsApp and we'll tell you which is the most suitable. The details are on the PPF service page and the nano ceramic page.
