Types of paint protection film in Egypt: 3M, XPEL, HEXIS, STEK Dyno or Covestro?
Five paint protection film brands, each with its own price and warranty at our centre. A straight comparison with no "best one": how to choose by your budget and the warranty length you want.

Ask about paint protection film (PPF) for your car and you'll hear at least five names, and every centre will tell you its own is the best. We install all five, so we don't need to sell you one in particular. Here are the PPF brands in Egypt that we install, with price and warranty, and the differences that matter when you choose.
The paint protection film brands we offer and their prices
Five brands. These prices are for the whole car in gloss film, as a standalone service:
- 3M: EGP 25,000, with a 10-year warranty.
- XPEL: EGP 25,000, with a 10-year warranty.
- HEXIS: EGP 30,000, with a 10-year warranty.
- STEK Dyno: EGP 40,000, with a 12-year warranty.
- Covestro: EGP 45,000, with a 12-year warranty.
The final price is confirmed after the inspection, and the inspection is free. Prices last updated: October 2026.
What does PPF mean? And what is the difference between PPF and TPU?
PPF is the name of the product: Paint Protection Film. TPU is the name of the material most modern films are made from: a flexible polyurethane. So they are not two types you choose between.
What you should really ask about is the film's material. TPU films are flexible, and on most of them the surface heals light scratches with heat. There are also cheaper films made of PVC, and these are usually stiffer and don't last as long. The films we install are 190 to 230 microns thick.
What really sets one film apart from another?
Four things, and you can ask about every one of them:
- Material: TPU or a cheaper material.
- Top coat: this is what resists stains and heals light scratches. Two films made of the same material can differ here.
- Clarity: a good film doesn't change the look of the paint underneath.
- Warranty: how long it runs, and how you will verify it years from now.
The fifth thing isn't in the film at all: the hands of the person who installs it.
3M and XPEL: when should you choose them?
If you want a paint protection film with a 10-year warranty at the lowest price on our price list. Both cost EGP 25,000 for the whole car.
3M is an American company, and XPEL is an American company whose core business is paint protection film.
HEXIS: when should you choose it?
If you want a European brand with a 10-year warranty. HEXIS is a French company that makes adhesive films and protection films, and its film costs EGP 30,000 at our centre.
STEK Dyno: when should you choose it?
If warranty length is what matters to you. On its own, the film carries a 12-year warranty with us, and it costs EGP 40,000.
Covestro: when should you choose it?
If you want the longest warranty on our price list: on its own, Covestro film carries a 12-year warranty with us and costs EGP 45,000.
The best paint protection film in Egypt: is there one answer?
No. There is no "best" film for everyone, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling you what he has. Three things really make the difference:
- Your budget: the gap between the cheapest film and the most expensive one is EGP 20,000.
- Warranty length: 10 years or 12.
- The installation itself: an expensive film fitted badly is worse than a cheaper film fitted properly.
That's why the most important question isn't "which brand?". It is "who will install it, and how will I confirm the film is genuine?".
Gloss or matte?
Gloss film looks as if it isn't there, and the car keeps its look. Matte film turns gloss paint into a matte finish without a respray, and protects it at the same time. Matte is available in all five brands with the same warranty as gloss, and costs EGP 5,000 more on the whole car.
The details are in our article on matte paint protection film.
Do I have to cover the whole car?
No. You can cover parts only, and the price of a part is a share of the whole-car price, rounded to the nearest EGP 500:
- A third of the price: the front end, or the rear end, or the bonnet and boot, or both bumpers and the 4 wings. That means EGP 8,500 with 3M or XPEL film, EGP 10,000 with HEXIS, EGP 13,500 with STEK Dyno and EGP 15,000 with Covestro.
- Half the price: the 4 doors, or the front end and rear end together. That means EGP 12,500 with 3M or XPEL film, EGP 15,000 with HEXIS, EGP 20,000 with STEK Dyno and EGP 22,500 with Covestro.
And the front end is the part that takes most of the stone chips.
The other options, and what each one covers, are on the PPF service page.
How do I know the film is genuine?
Ask to see the box before installation. At our centre every film box carries a serial of 12 letters and digits, and a secret code of 8 digits under a scratch-off layer. You activate the warranty yourself, and the code can be activated once only. All the steps are in how to tell that paint protection film is genuine.
The film on its own, or a package?
The prices and warranties above are for the film as a standalone service. In the packages the film comes with the heat insulation film and the rest of the package's contents, and each package has its own film:
- X Shield: 3M or XPEL.
- X Max: HEXIS.
- X Max Pro: STEK Dyno.
- X Max Pro+: Covestro.
In the X Max package and above, graphene is applied to the paint under the film. The package price is not published on the site: send us your car's make and model on WhatsApp and we'll tell you.
