Matte PPF: turn your car matte without a respray
Matte paint protection film does two things at once: it turns gloss paint into a matte look, and it protects it from stone chips and scratches. The price, how it differs from gloss, the brands and warranty, and aftercare.

A matte look used to mean respraying the whole car and saying goodbye to the factory paint. Now there is another way: matte PPF, a matte paint protection film fitted over the gloss paint. The car goes matte, and the original paint stays as it is under the film.
What is matte PPF?
It is the same paint protection film (PPF), but with a matte surface instead of a gloss one. It is fitted over gloss paint, so it does two things together:
- It changes the look: the gloss turns into a smooth matte appearance.
- It protects: it stops stone chips and scratches like any paint protection film.
The colour itself doesn't change. Black stays black, only matte.
What is the difference between matte and gloss PPF?
The protection is the same, and the look is what differs.
- Gloss: it looks as if it isn't there. The car keeps its look, and nobody can tell there is a film on it.
- Matte: it changes the look. Light doesn't reflect off the surface as sharply, so the lines of the car show differently.
How much is matte PPF?
Matte costs EGP 5,000 more than gloss on the whole car. Our gloss film prices run from EGP 25,000 to EGP 45,000 depending on the type of film, so matte runs from EGP 30,000 to EGP 50,000.
Matte is available in all five brands: 3M, XPEL, HEXIS, STEK Dyno and Covestro. Its warranty is the same as gloss: 10 years on 3M, XPEL and HEXIS, and 12 years on STEK Dyno and Covestro. The final price comes after the inspection, and the inspection is free.
Matte by film, by wrap or by respray?
- Matte PPF: the same colour as your car, only matte, and with it protection from stone chips and scratches.
- Matte wrap: it changes the colour as well. The details are on the colour wrap page.
- Matte respray: permanent, and the factory paint is gone.
If you like your car's colour and simply want it matte, the film is the closest to what you want.
How do I look after matte film?
Like any paint protection film, with one important difference: don't polish it. Polish and wax that add shine ruin the matte look.
- Wait 15 days after fitting before the first wash.
- Wash by hand with a mild shampoo and a microfibre cloth.
- Stay away from brush car washes.
Your first check-up with us is 10–15 days after fitting, then every 6 months, and all of them are free. The rest of the details are in Care after protection.
Should I cover the whole car or only parts?
Matte is usually fitted on the whole car. If you fit it on one part only, you will have a matte part next to a gloss part, and the difference will show.
The difference between the brands and the prices is in Paint protection film brands in Egypt, and all the coverage options are on the PPF service page.
