What is paint protection film (PPF), and what does it protect against?
PPF is a clear or matte layer installed on the car’s paint. It is 190 to 230 microns thick, and it takes the scratch or the hit instead of the paint.
- It protects against: stone chips on the road, wash marks and everyday scuffs, bird droppings and tree sap.
- It does not protect against: accidents and hard impacts, because those reach the metal itself, not just the paint.
Modern films are also self-healing: light scratches on the film’s surface disappear with heat.
How much does protection film cost by brand?
A full car costs 25,000 to 45,000 EGP depending on the film, and single areas start at 8,500 EGP. This is the price of the film as a stand-alone service; the final price is set after inspection, and the inspection is free.
All five are available now: 3M, XPEL, HEXIS, STEK Dyno and Covestro; the price and warranty table is on this page. If you are torn between them, the full comparison is in PPF brands in Egypt.
3M
3M film costs 25,000 EGP for the full car, with a 10-year warranty. It is our lowest price together with XPEL, and the front end costs 8,500 EGP. The X Shield package comes with 3M or XPEL film.
XPEL
XPEL film costs 25,000 EGP for the full car, with a 10-year warranty: the same price and warranty as 3M, so the choice between them is yours. The front end costs 8,500 EGP.
HEXIS
HEXIS film costs 30,000 EGP for the full car, with a 10-year warranty; the front end costs 10,000 EGP. It is the film in the X Max package.
STEK Dyno
STEK Dyno film costs 40,000 EGP for the full car, with a 12-year warranty; the front end costs 13,500 EGP. It is the film in the X Max Pro package.
Covestro
Covestro film costs 45,000 EGP for the full car, with a 12-year warranty; the front end costs 15,000 EGP. It is the film in the X Max Pro+ package.
How are single areas priced?
An area is priced as a share of the full-car price for the same film, rounded to the nearest 500 EGP:
- One third of the price: the front end, or the rear end, or the hood and trunk, or both bumpers and the 4 fenders.
- Half the price: the 4 doors, or the front and rear ends together.
You can work out any area with any film in the price calculator on this page.
Clear or matte film?
Both are available and the choice is yours: clear keeps the paint’s gloss as it is, while matte turns the car matte without a respray. Matte is available in all five brands with the same warranty as gloss, and costs 5,000 EGP more on the full car, so matte 3M or XPEL is 30,000 EGP. Details are in Matte PPF.
How long does installation take, and how do you follow it?
Installing the film takes 1–2 days depending on the package. While the car is with us you follow it live from your phone, stage by stage: wash, polish, second wash, protection film installation, exterior finish and nano, interior finish and nano, then delivery. The whole day is described in PPF installation steps.
How long is the film warranty?
10 years on 3M, XPEL and HEXIS, and 12 years on STEK Dyno and Covestro. The warranty is digital and you activate it yourself. All the details are on the digital warranty page.
Is there a follow-up after installation?
Yes: the first check-up is 10–15 days after installation, then every 6 months, all free. Care tips are in the aftercare guide.
Film alone, or a package?
Film alone protects the paint; a package combines it with nano and heat insulation for the glass. And in the X Max package and the tiers above it, a graphene layer goes on the paint under the film and carries a 10-year warranty with the film. If the film is ever removed, the graphene underneath is intact, like a freshly applied coating. See the four protection packages, or read more about graphene and nano ceramic.
