Your car's day at EGY X: paint protection film (PPF) installation stages, from drop-off to handover
Your car will stay with us for a day or two. Here are the seven stages of paint protection film installation in order, what happens before you come, how you follow them live, and what happens after handover.

The hardest part of any work on your car is leaving it and walking away. You don't know what is being done to it, when it will be finished, or whether what you agreed on is what is being fitted. That's why we show you the whole day: the PPF installation process in order, stage by stage, while you follow from your phone.
Before you come: what happens?
Everything starts with a WhatsApp message, and there is no form to fill in:
- You send us: your car's make, model and year, and what you have in mind. We reply within minutes.
- We tell you the price: the price of paint protection film on its own is published, from EGP 25,000 to EGP 45,000 depending on the type of film. The package price we send you on WhatsApp.
- The inspection: at the Mansoura branch, and it is free. During it we agree on the coverage and the type of film.
- The appointment: we set the drop-off day.
What are the stages of paint protection film installation?
Seven stages, in this order:
- Wash: the car is washed thoroughly so that dust and contaminants are removed before anything else.
- Polish: the paint is inspected and polished. The film seals in whatever is underneath, so any defect has to be put right now.
- Second wash: to remove the polishing residue and leave the surface completely clean.
- Paint protection film installation: the film is fitted to the parts we agreed on.
- Exterior finish and nano: finishing the car on the outside.
- Interior finish and nano: finishing the car on the inside.
- Handover: a final check, and you collect your car.
The polishing and inspection products we work with come from Koch-Chemie, Rupes and Scangrip.
Why polish before the film?
Because the film doesn't hide defects, it traps them. A small scratch or a wash swirl under the film will stay there until the film is removed.
That's why the first three stages are all preparation: wash, polish and second wash.
How long does the job take?
One to two days, depending on the package.
How do I follow my car while it is with you?
Live, from your phone. From the moment the car is dropped off you see which of the seven stages it is at, right up to handover. You don't need to call and ask "is it done?".
In the packages: where does the graphene go?
Under the film, in the X Max package and above. In those packages, graphene is applied to the paint and the film is fitted over it. The film is what faces the road, and the graphene is hidden beneath it. If the film is ever removed, the graphene is intact, as if its life had only just begun.
What happens on handover day?
You collect the car and activate your warranty yourself:
- The film box carries a sticker with a serial of 12 letters and digits, and a secret code of 8 digits under a scratch-off layer.
- You enter them on the Activate your warranty page.
- The digital certificate is saved in your account, and you can add it to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
The details are on the digital warranty page.
And after handover?
- Washing: wait 15 days before the first wash.
- Windows: if heat insulation film was fitted, don't open them for 3 days.
- First check-up: 10–15 days after installation.
- After that: a check-up every 6 months.
All check-ups are free. The right way to wash is in care after protection.
