Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2025: the X Shield package with 3M film

A metallic grey Eclipse Cross 2025 came to us new. Its owner wanted to keep the depth of the colour and reduce wash scratches, so it got nano graphene on the paint and, over it, the 3M paint protection film of the X Shield package, in two days. This is the story.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2025: the X Shield package with 3M film

A Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross 2025 in metallic grey came to us new and in excellent condition. Its owner wanted two things: to keep the depth of the grey under the summer sun, and to reduce the fine scratches that come from washing and daily use.

Those two things are not solved by the same product, so the car got both: American nano graphene on the paint first, and over it the 3M paint protection film of the X Shield package.

Why film and graphene together?

Because each one solves half of the request:

  • Scratches and stone chips: that is the film's job. It has thickness, so it is what takes the friction instead of the paint.
  • Depth of colour: that is the graphene's job. It is a coating that adds gloss to the paint; it goes on first and the film is fitted over it. If the film is ever removed, the graphene is intact, as if its life were only just starting.

Metallic grey in particular shows the difference: any wash swirl dulls its gloss, and any clean coating on top deepens it.

How did the job go?

In two days, through the same seven stages every car goes through with us.

It started with preparation: a wash, then a paint check and a light one-step correction. The car is new, so the paint did not need more than that. After a second wash the graphene layer went onto the paint and the 3M film was installed over it, then the exterior and interior finishing, and then the handover.

The stages one by one are on the Eclipse Cross page in our work gallery.

What was the result?

  • The grey became deeper, as if the car were wet.
  • The surface became smooth, and water and dust slide off it.
  • A light wash is now enough to bring the gloss back.

Warranty and check-ups

The 3M film carries a 10-year warranty, and the graphene under it is covered for the same term: 10 years. The digital warranty, with the serial and the secret code, is for the paint protection film, and it is the car owner who activates it. The details are in digital warranty.

The first check-up is 10–15 days after the film is installed, then every 6 months, and all of them are free.

Is your car new like this one?

Read protecting a new car to know where to start. If you are torn between graphene and nano ceramic, the difference is in graphene or nano ceramic.

If you want us to look at your car, message us on WhatsApp. The inspection is free, at the Mansoura branch.

Questions

01

How long did the work on the Eclipse Cross take?

Two days: paint preparation, then the nano graphene, the paint protection film over it, and the finishing.
02

Why was paint correction done on a new car?

Because protection seals in whatever is underneath it. A light one-step correction gets the paint to its cleanest state before the graphene and the film.
03

How long is the warranty on this Eclipse Cross?

The 3M film carries a 10-year warranty, a digital one that the car owner activates. The American nano graphene under the film is covered for the same term: 10 years.
