New car protection: the first thing to do for a brand-new car

A brand-new car's paint is at its best, and that is the most suitable time to protect it. The right order: preparation, then film on what takes the hits, a coating for gloss, and heat insulation film for the glass. Plus what is worth doing and what can wait.

New car protection: the first thing to do for a brand-new car

You've just collected a brand-new car, and the paint will never be better than it is today. Every day after that adds something: a stone on the road, a bad wash, a parking spot under a tree. That's why new car protection is easier and cheaper than repairing paint that has taken a beating.

New car protection: where do I start?

Start with what takes the most hits: the front end. Then add more as your budget allows. This order works for most people:

  1. Paint preparation: even a new car can arrive with light swirl marks from showroom washing. They are corrected before any protection, because protection seals in whatever is underneath.
  2. Paint protection film (PPF) on what takes the hits: the front end at least, or the whole car.
  3. A coating for gloss and easy washing: nano ceramic or graphene.
  4. Heat insulation film for the glass.

Why isn't the film a luxury on a new car?

Because a single stone chip on the bonnet means a touch-up that shows, or a panel respray. And original paint makes a difference to the car's price when you sell it.

The film takes the hit instead of the paint. Its warranty with us is 10 years on 3M, XPEL and HEXIS, and 12 years on STEK Dyno and Covestro.

Does it have to be the whole car?

No. The front end is what takes most of the stone chips, and it costs a third of the whole-car price: from EGP 8,500. The whole car costs from EGP 25,000 to EGP 45,000 depending on the type of film, and that is for someone who wants to keep all of the original paint.

All the options are on the PPF service page.

What if my budget doesn't stretch to film?

Nano ceramic costs EGP 6,000 with a 3-year warranty, and nano graphene costs EGP 9,000 with a 5-year warranty. Both add gloss and make washing easier, but they do not stop stone chips.

The difference between them is in graphene or nano ceramic.

Should I do everything at once?

If you're planning on the film, the coating and the heat insulation film, a package is easier. The packages combine paint protection film with the heat insulation film and the rest of each package's contents, and in the X Max package and above graphene is applied to the paint under the film. The job takes one to two days depending on the package.

The package price is not published on the site. Send us your car's make and model on WhatsApp and we'll tell you.

What about the dealer warranty?

A new car means a dealer warranty that is still running. Ask your dealer about paint protection film before you fit it, and ask for the reply in writing. The details are in 8 questions before installing paint protection film.

And after the protection?

Wait 15 days before the first wash, and come in for your check-ups: the first is 10–15 days after the film is installed, then every 6 months, and all of them are free. How to wash is covered in care after protection.

Questions

01

Do I have to protect the whole car with film?

You don't have to. The front end is what takes most of the stone chips, and it costs a third of the whole-car price. The whole car is for someone who wants to keep all of the original paint.
02

When should I protect a new car?

As soon as possible after you collect it, before the paint picks up scratches and stone chips. Protection seals in whatever is underneath, so the cleaner the paint, the better the result.
03

Is a nano coating enough on a new car?

It is enough if you want gloss and easier washing and most of your driving is in the city. It is not enough if you travel a lot, because it does not stop stone chips.
04

How long does the job take?

Paint protection film installation takes one to two days depending on the package, and you follow your car live from drop-off to handover.
